Vocabulário
My name is Ana, and I work in a shop that sells clothes. Every day, I help customers buy T-shirts, jeans, and dresses. A T-shirt costs twenty reais, and a pair of jeans costs fifty reais. Customers ask me, “How much is this dress?” I answer, “It costs seventy reais.” Some customers say, “That’s expensive!” but others think it’s cheap. I smile and say, “Hello! Do you want to buy this?” They nod and give me money.
Today, one man buys three T-shirts. He gives me sixty reais, and I check the money. I say, “Thank you for your purchase!” Another customer, Sofia, wants a jacket. She asks, “How much is it?” I tell her, “It’s one hundred reais.” She says, “Okay, I pay with cash.” I count the money and give her ten reais back. My boss watches and says, “Ana, you sell clothes very well!” I thank her and continue working.
At lunch, I go to Pedro’s café. He sells sandwiches for five reais each. I buy two sandwiches and pay ten reais. Pedro says, “Thanks, Ana! You are my favorite customer.” I laugh and say, “Your sandwiches are cheap and delicious!” After work, I visit my sister. She wants to buy a new phone, but it costs five hundred reais. She asks me, “Is it too expensive?” I say, “Save your money, and you can buy it next month.” She smiles and agrees. At home, I count my tips. I have thirty reais today, and I feel happy.
