Bem-vindo à aula sobre “Comparatives”. Nesta lição, você aprenderá como usar os comparativos em inglês para comparar duas pessoas, lugares, coisas ou ideias. Os comparativos são usados para mostrar que uma coisa tem mais ou menos de uma qualidade do que outra.
Formamos os comparativos de duas maneiras principais: adicionando “-er” ao final de adjetivos curtos (de uma sílaba) ou usando “more” antes de adjetivos longos (de duas sílabas ou mais). Também há formas irregulares que precisam ser memorizadas.
Por exemplo, para o adjetivo curto “tall” (alto), o comparativo é “taller” (mais alto). Para o adjetivo longo “beautiful” (bonito/a), o comparativo é “more beautiful” (mais bonito/a).

- He is more intelligent than his friend. (Ele é mais inteligente do que o amigo dele.)
- This house is more expensive than that one. (Esta casa é mais cara do que aquela.)
Formas Irregulares
- My car is better than yours. (Meu carro é melhor do que o seu.)
- Her situation is worse than mine. (A situação dela é pior do que a minha.)
- This place is farther than the other one. (Este lugar é mais longe do que o outro.)
